Charlotte Harbor - Pine Island Sound
|
| Charlotte Harbor Redfish Charters
Red Drum or Redfish are a desired flats and
backcountry fish that are found in great number in Pine
Island sound and Charlotte Harbor.
Fishing charters run all year, but the spring and fall seasons are best. During
these seasons the Southwest Florida flats hold
monster schools of large redfish that invade Charlotte Harbor
and Pine Island Sound searching for crabs and shrimp. During the extreme low
tides, redfish up to twenty pounds in size can be found tailing on the outside
bars and flats. As the tide rises, the fish push up into the mangrove jungles
searching for food. When fishing large schools
like these, it is not difficult to catch huge numbers of fish.
Our Charlotte Harbor
fishing charters take clients into the backcountry armed with artificial, live
bait or flies in Capt. Willis' 18' tunnel skiff. Charlotte
Harbor fishing delivers
an awesome backcountry angling experience for any fisherman - expert or novice.

Southwestern Florida Snook Fishing
Snook may very well be the number one sought
after flats fish in the state of Florida -
especially in Southwest Florida. Our fishing charters put you where the action
is and deliver some of the best snook fishing to be found.
Snook provide a challenging and adrenaline
charged fight for any angler. We typically find them near structures, docks,
rocks and the vast mangrove forests.
Most of our backcountry fishing in Charlotte Harbor
is done on lightweight tackle with 20-40 lb. leaders. Some of our best snook
fishing takes place around docks and mangroves and often will require heavier
tackle to pull them out. However, a majority of the season is spent fishing the
shallow flats and cuts in the mangroves.
Snook fishing is a must for the action
enthusiast. Fighting twenty pounds of snook under mangroves bushes and oyster
bars, in less than two feet of water, delivers an adrenaline charged angling
thrill.

Charlotte Harbor Speckled Sea Trout Fishing
The Speckled Sea Trout season is typically held during the spring and fall. When the weather starts to turn colder in the fall, the trout move in to the warmer shallow flats for the winter. Then, in spring, when the deeper waters start to
warm up again, they move back out, making these two seasons excellent for Charlotte Harbor fishing!
Beach and Backcountry Charters fish for trout with a mix of artificials and live bait. In the spring, monster trout abound and the fight can be compared to snook. It is common to catch 50 trout along with several redfish, cobia and bluefish in a trip during the winter.
